ChemGraph provides a very efficient system for entering, storing, and reporting environmental data. It combines the capabilities of a spreadsheet, database, and a drawing program. The data is stored in Microsoft Access database files. Setting up a database is easy because the user simply lists the sources (i.e. wells) and parameters of the project. Then, ChemGraph creates the database structure automatically. Data is then entered into its spreadsheet style editor or imported via standard text file formats. Once the data is present, the user chooses sources, parameters, and dates to batch-print specialized environmental reports.

Sample Data Entry Screen:

Summary by Source Report:

The Summary by Source Report, consisting of a table and graph page, shows the sampling history for each source (i.e. well, lagoon, discharge pipe, etc.). Below is the table page showing the results of 11 parameters across the top and 12 dates going downward for one source.

Summary by Source Graph:

The graph page of the Summary by Source Report is shown below. A diamond marker is placed on the right side of each graph indicating the maximum contamination level. Notice how easily the anomaly for chloride, second row to the far right, is spotted.

Summary by Parameter Report:

The Summary by Parameter Report, showing just one parameter per page, enables you to compare the values of a parameter between a set of sources. In the example below, the first source is the background source and all the others are compared to it.

Date Contour Report:

This report enables you to create 2-D or 3-D contour diagrams right from your ChemGraph database via a direct interface to Surfer. It's as easy as a few mouseclicks!

Just specify the parameters, sources, title information, episode, and map information to create: 1 large contour map per page or 4 small contour maps per page.

Summary by Date Report:

The Summary by Date Report shows the plume of contamination for a set of sources during one sampling episode. The report for each episode consists of a table page and up to 10 map pages. The table page shows the values for 9 parameters in up to 39 sources. The map page shows the sources in their physical locations on the site. Each source area is shaded according to the level of contamination of the parameters chosen.

Stiff Graph Report:

Like the Summary by Date Report, the Stiff Graph Report shows the values for parameters and sources during one sampling episode. The parameters and their scales are shown at the top of the page. Each point on the polygons, below, is placed according to the value for each parameter, relative to its scale, above. Thus, the higher the value, the larger the polygon. This report gives you a way to quickly summarize concentrations of multiple of parameters in multiple sources.

Groundwater Elevation Report:

The GW Elevation Report shows seasonal trends in groundwater elevations plotting up to 4 sources together, on one page. Groundwater elevations can also be shown on any of the other reports

ChemGraph exports directly to ChemStat to perform most statistical analysis methods described in the 1989 and 1992 USEPA statistical analysis documents. Some of the methods include:

Parametric ANOVA, Prediction Limit, Tolerance Limit, Confidence Interval, Kruskal-Wallis, Wilcoxon Rank-Sum, Poisson Prediction Limit, Levene's Test for Homogeneity, Shapiro-Wilks Test of Normality, Skewness Coefficient, Kurtosis, Mann-Kendall trend Analysis, Sen's Slope Estimator, Rosner or Dixon Outlier test
